Our first Market Day was a huge success and we would like to thank everyone who came out to see what all the fuss was about. MoAD and Tyler Street Garage played host to 14 artists and designers showcasing an awesome array of their wares to market goers. It was a great day had by all! We are looking forward to the next market which will happen on the last Saturday of June.

TOMORROW IS THE DAY!

Tomorrow is the day folks and we are excited! Don’t forget you can park in the Britomart Car Park for $6 from 8.30am – 3pm, this is for Market goers to both our Market Day and the City Farmers Market. The car park is just at the end of Tyler Street, so it doesn’t get much easier really! To celebrate our last leg towards the big day check out the works of Hunter Gatherer, MoAD and Lil Bones. We have been sorting through our stock of goodies and will have some sweet Market Day specials. Come and enjoy the market, hang about and catch up with friends on the rooftop bar. So much to do in one place it will be your Saturday all sorted! We look forward to seeing you all there.

We here at MoAD have a love of quality New Zealand made art + design, after all that is what we are all about! Ceramics always hits our top list of collectible artifacts and our inaugural Market Day will not disappoint. Our selection of ceramic ware ranges from contemporary bowls & vessels to beautifully sculptured vases. All of our ceramic designers + artists have their own unique flair which will give you all a handpicked selection of ceramic ware cool. Come early to get the pick of the crop!

The weather forecast says that it will be a fine day so come and do a spot of design shopping then head upstairs to the rooftop bar to have a pizza and beer! Don’t forget parking can be validated and it would be silly not to get in and do some produce shopping at the City Farmers market nice and early. Not long to go now.

Tyler Street Garage presents: MoAD Market Day – 26 May 2012

Tyler Street Garage in association with MoAD is bringing some of Auckland’s freshest art and design talent to be showcased at Britomarts newest art and design market day.

Market Day will be held on Saturday 26 May between 10.30am and 2.30pm at Tyler Street Garage and will reoccur on the last Saturday of each month.

Contemporary artifacts for sale include jewellery, ceramics, textiles, limited-edition T-shirts, leatherware, object art and prints.

Pop down and check out all the market fanfare at Britomart, with the City Farmers’ Market also taking place on Gore Street from 8.30am to 12.30pm.

Parking is available at Britomart Car Park located on the corner of Quay Street and Britomart Place with a $6 special rate for market goers between 8.30am and 2.30pm, simply take your parking ticket to the validation point at the City Farmers’ Market.

TYLER ST GARAGE ART AND DESIGN MARKET – CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS

Tyler St Garage in association with MoAD is starting a monthly art and design market. It will be held on the last Saturday of each month from 10:30-2:30, with May 26^th as the proposed inaugural event.

We are looking for artists and designers who are producing quality work made in NZ in a variety of disciplines both 2D and 3D. As usual we are looking for ‘not the ordinary’. Places are limited to 20 participants per market.

For those of you who don’t know, Tyler St Garage is an industrial style bar and eatery on Tyler St in the Britomart Precinct that neighbours Zambezi, Kate Sylvester and World’s new flagship stores. The Tyler St Garage ground floor space will be transformed into the markets, but they won’t be your ordinary markets. There is a social element that will be unique to the markets, not only will it be a hub for creatives to promote and sell their work; it will also be a space for customers to enjoy a glass of wine, perhaps a little lunch and really hang out in the space.

Britomart is fast becoming ‘the’ destination in Auckland City, this is a great opportunity for us and you to be a part of this great new precinct and to build something truly exciting in the city.

It is our Annual ‘Yard’ Sale this weekend where we do some super sweet deals on seconds, end of lines and samples. MoAD will have a selection of seconds that have not made it to our retail stores but will still add bucket loads of cool to any home. Also in attendance will be Popkraft, t-shirtopedia and art prints by Aroha Lewin. Lots of great gifts for loved ones for xmas or just to spoil yourself without breaking the bank!!
